Peace Arch Curling Club offers an introduction to curling for Surrey School District students taught by volunteer experienced curlers. Students will learn how to deliver a rock, sweeping technique, and rules of the game.
Class size is limited to 32 students. Cost is $3 per student per session. Typically, three sessions are taught.
Necessary curling equipment will be provided: brooms, sliders, grippers.
Students are required to wear CLEAN running shoes to the rink. They are encouraged to wear layers of warm, stretchy clothing and gloves.
Students who have participated in the school program at Peace Arch Curling Centre have gone on to be winning curlers. The 2018 High School Provincial champions from Earl Marriott pictured left to right are: Haily Dubois - Third, Gemma Cooper-Smith - Lead, Kiana Holland - Skip, Alyssa Lait - Second and Nicole Hague - Fifth.
